Bird Flu Surging Worldwide - Will Price of Eggs, Chicken, Turkey Rise Once Again?

By Tim Gamble

Some news headlines from the past few days (click the links to read the entire articles).
Remember last winter and early spring when egg prices went through the roof for a few months? And the prices of chicken and turkey meat also surged? Some areas even experienced actual shortages. Will inflation and shortages happen once again?

Honestly, I don't know. But, as the proverb goes "A prudent man foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences." (Proverbs 22:3, the official motto of this website).

My advice: Don't panic. Just be aware, and continue to work your preparedness plan (you do have one, right?), which should include stocking up food, water, and other supplies.

Weekly Spiritual Preparedness #3

By Tim Gamble
All my links: https://linktr.ee/timgamble

My apologies for being a little late this week. I intend to post a weekly spiritual preparedness article on 1st day (Sunday), but with Thanksgiving weekend and an out-of-state road trip, It just didn't get done on time. I'll try to do better next week.

Precepts of Biblical Survivalism

1- In all things, God first and foremost. Our relationship with God is by far the most important preparation we can make. Everything we say, do, or even think should rest on, or point the way to, that relationship with God. God is our first priority. (Full Article: Precepts of Biblical Survivalism)

Is the world actually getting safer?

By Tim Gamble

For a while there, things were looking quite bleak. Major wars in Europe (Russia-Ukraine) and the Middle East (Israel-Hamas) looked ready to expand into world wars. In Asia, China seemed about ready to jump on Taiwan, almost guaranteeing a world war, and doing MAJOR disruptions to the world's supply chains. The US dollar was falling fast. People were worried about sleeper cells in the USA (just not me). An invasion of illegal aliens were pouring in our southern border, intentionally facilitated by the Biden administration and democrat leaders everywhere. The list of problems was seemingly endless.

Now, suddenly, things seem to have shifted for the better and safer. News is breaking of a potential truce and hostage release between Israel and Hamas. Iran never jumped into the conflict, and doesn't really seem interested in doing so (probably because of the multiple carrier groups the USA parked in the region). The War Hawks in Europe and in DC are suddenly singing a different tune on Ukraine, now saying the war must end soon even if it means Ukraine losing some territories to Russia (no more "win at all costs, no matter what"). China hasn't jumped Taiwan, and seems less likely to do so (economic problems, lack of political will, and possible lack of military capabilities). The US dollar is actually rebounding. And the border invasion... Well, that one is still happening.

So what does this mean? Actually, nothing. The world is still a very dangerous place. Any of these conflicts could still ignite into a larger war (accidently or on-purpose). China could still decide to take Taiwan (look to late-January to mid-March as the next likely window, for reasons dealing with Naval conditions in the region). The US dollar will likely dip again at some point (huge deficits and other problems remain). And with the ongoing invasion of illegals, expect crime and other associated problems to continue to increase. And with 2024 being an election year, expect tyranny to only ramp up as the powers-that-be try to once again dictate the outcome.

Preparedness is hard work, and no one wants to be emotionally on-edge all the time. Whenever something expected doesn't happen, people use it as an excuse to stop prepping; to fall back normalcy bias. Don't. Now is not the time to panic, but it is also not the time to go back to sleep. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. Continue working your plan. Continue building a self-reliant lifestyle for yourself and your family. True preparedness is a lifestyle, not a one-time event.

MainePrepper: Prepping 101 What To Do

By Tim Gamble

I want to recommend an old video by a man I consider one of my "survival gurus," even if I've never met him in real life. I know him only through his YouTube videos. The video is by MainePrepper, and can be found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULJtZkFFAUo

The title of the video is Prepping 101 What to do First, and is the most complete 1-video introduction to preparedness that I have seen. A MUST WATCH video for those new to preparedness and a GREAT review for those of us who have been doing this for a long time.

MainePrepper taught me much through his YouTube videos. A Master Sargent in the military, MainePrepper did videos on everything from basic preparedness, to diet and exercise, to guns and riflemanship, to tracking & countertracking, to leadership, and the list goes on and on... Several years ago, he stopped making videos so he could focus on dealing with the results of his injuries (received in Iraq if I remember correctly). Wherever you are today, MainePrepper, I just want to say a sincere Thank You and let you know you are still in the thoughts and prayers of many.

Spiritual Preparedness #2

By Tim Gamble
All my links: https://linktr.ee/timgamble

I am making a Spiritual Preparedness series a regular 1st Day (Sunday) feature. For last week's, click here

Last week on Gab (follow me there: @TimGamble), I made a post that struck a chord with many folks, getting 601 reactions, 105 replies, 125 reposts, and 11 quotes. Here is that post.
A Church should be unapologetically Bible-believing and Bible-teaching - and that means ALL of the Bible, from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21. No cherry-picking the "acceptable" passages. No avoiding the uncomfortable ones. No trying to "fit in" with the modern world.
Apparently a lot of people are dissatisfied with modern woke "churches" trying desperately to fit in with the World. This is why I tell people to read the Bible - the entire Bible, old testament and new, for themselves, to pray daily, and to find the fellowship of like-minded believers even if it means leaving your current church. I've written two articles on this subject:
Folks, a church doesn't have to be a dedicated building that looks a certain way, or have a "properly credentialed" pastor or priest. And it certainly doesn't have to have a special license from the government, or have official tax-exempt status. Those things do not make a church. Jesus taught that "where two or more people are gathered in my name, there I am."

Find a place where you can gather with one or more other true believers for fellowship, support, and worship. There will be the Church, be it a special building, or someone's (your?) home.

Suggested Scripture Readings For This Week

Genesis 28:10 - 32:3
Hosea 12:13 - 14:10
John 1:41 - 51

Proverbs and Psalms

There are 31 chapters to the book pf Proverbs. Some folks read a chapter a day, matching the day of the month. For example, today is the 19th, so they will read chapter 19. This way, they read through the entire book of Proverbs once a month (on months with 30 days, they will read two chapters on the last day).

Some folks also will try to read at least one Psalm each day. Start with with Psalm 1 and read one Psalm a day. Over the course of a year, you will read through the entire book of Psalms twice, and then some.

I try to do both of these, although I am somewhat inconsistent.

Scripture Memorization For This Week

This week I am memorizing the following verses:

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” --Matthew 5:17 (Jesus speaking)

Everyone who commits sin practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. – 1 John 3:4

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, – Romans 3:23

Click here for last weeks Scripture memorization. Feel free to memorize in whatever Bible version you are most comfortable with.

One of my favorite and most often used Bibles:

The NKJV, American Patriot's Bible, The Word of God and the Shaping of America - One of my favorites, the New King James Version is literal, accurate, and easy-to-read for most modern folks. The American Patriot's Bible "shows how the history of the United States connects the people and events of the Bible to our lives in a modern world. The story of the United States is wonderfully woven into the teachings of the Bible." Lot's of articles and study notes showing the importance of God and the Bible to our nation's founding and subsequent history. They are coming for your chickens... and it starts with registration!

By Tim Gamble

Zac at An American Homestead just posted an extremely interesting video I am recommending people watch: Confiscation In Tennessee Happening Now! - PROOF (click title to watch the video on YouTube). He's talking chickens, but the tactics used (required registration for a fake permit - see video for a full explanation) can be applied to anything else they want to control, from your guns to your gold & silver. As Zac says, registration ALWAYS leads to confiscation.

Register your family's vaccine status? Register your rain-water collection? Register your garden? Actually, the USDA wants you to register your backyard garden (you can registrar it on the USDA website by clicking here, but please don't). Don't worry. It is not required. Yet.

Always think twice before registering whatever the government wants you to register. It is always about control, including eventual confiscation if they disapprove of it.

The Greatest Change...

This graphic (taken from social media, origin unknown) is a great representation of at least part of the reasoning behind the Biblical Agrarianism concept. For more on that concept, see my earlier articles:

Join Me In My New Project!

By Tim Gamble

I do what I do in large part because of my beliefs. I want to live my life to please my God, and care little about pleasing the World. I am in no way perfect at it, but that the goal I am striving towards. To me, spiritual preparedness is as important as physical preparedness.

My new project for spiritual preparedness is to get serious about memorizing Scripture. I will pick a few verses each week to memorize. Please join me, if you feel so inclined. I'll post my picks for memorization each week.

A note on translations: Please feel free to use your favorite translation. The Bible wasn't originally written in English, of course. There are hundreds of translations available. Many are dreadful. There is no prefect translation. But there are good translations: The King James Version (KJV) is probably the gold standard of accurate translations, but it is an archaic style of English which many people find off-putting and difficult. The New King James Version (NKJV) is almost as good, and is written in a more familiar modern English. The Scriptures is an excellent new literal translation which restores many original names (examples: YHWH = the Lord; Elohim = God; Yeshua = Jesus; Mosheh = Moses), which some folks might find confusing. Those three are my favorites.

How to memorize scripture: As with all things, prayerfully. Ask for His help. Then use whatever method works best for you. I make flashcards, which I read through several times a day.

Verses for Week One

Deuteronomy 6:4-5:  Hear, O Israel: YHWH our Elohim, YHWH is one! You shall love YHWH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your might.

John 10:30: “I and My Father are one.” (Jesus speaking)

Matthew 22:36-40:  “Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?” He [Jesus] said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.” –

Deuteronomy 6:5:  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Leviticus 19:18: You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

Proverbs 22:3: A prudent man foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

[Edit 11-15-2023:  Yes. Deut. 6:5 is on this lest twice, in two different versions. This is intentional. Deut. 6:4,5 is a prayer known as the Shema, an d is considered one of the holiest prayers of the Old Testament. I want to memorize this as a prayer, and have chosen the version from The Scriptures translation.

Duet. 6:5 is also quoted by Jesus in Matthew 22:36-40. I want to memorize Duet. 6:5 as a supporting verse for Matthew 22:36:40. I choose to memorize it in the NKJV because that is the same version as Matthew 22:36-40 in this list.]

MPox (aka Monkeypox) on the rise in Asia

By Tim Gamble
All my links: https://linktr.ee/timgamble

Here's a candidate for the next plandemic: Monkeypox, now known as mpox (because the term monkey is racist or something). The disease is reportedly on the rise in Asia since July.

On Tuesday, Taiwan reported it first death from mpox, a man in his 30s who was unvaccinated against mpox. (Yes. There is a vaccine. More money to Big Pharma, who in turn uses lobbyists to launder the money back to politicians and government officials. Are you seeing how this works?)

Taiwan has reported 355 mpox cases this year. The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control also reports that a significant increase in mpox infections has been seen in the Western Pacific and Southeast Asia regions since July this year.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "common symptoms of mpox are a skin rash or mucosal lesions which can last 2–4 weeks accompanied by fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, low energy, and swollen lymph nodes." Although rare, death from mpox may occur.

Also according to WHO, "It is recommended for people at high risk to get vaccinated to prevent infection with mpox, especially during an outbreak." People at high risk include healthcare workers, gay and bisexual men, sex workers, and people with multiple sex partners. Mpox can be transmitted through respiratory droplets or short-range aerosols (coughing, sneezing, etc.), kissing, sex, shared needles, and other means of close contact.

The Return of Avian Flu?

  • The U.S. government says a flock of 31,600 breeder pullets, or young hens, used to produce meat, was infected with avian flu in Madison County, Arkansas.
  • Last week, officials in Alabama also confirmed an outbreak at a commercial farm in a flock of 296,500 gamebirds.
  • Avian flu has wiped out more than 60 million U.S. chickens, turkeys, and other birds since 2022.
  • Previous outbreaks caused sharp spikes in the price of eggs and chicken and turkey meat.
