Technocracy Threats: Power Elite Control (2026 version)

Digital ID + programmable money (CBDCs) + AI surveillance and scoring + smart-city infrastructure

Dear Shadow Tribe,

I've been warning about technocracy since at least 2019. Here is my newest update.

Technocracy is the tool being used so successfully by the Power Elite to control the masses. This intersection of technology and power (both government and corporate) needs to be examined and understood if we are to protect ourselves and our families, and resist the transformation of human civilization.

In this article, I aim to briefly explain what technocracy is, what its goals are, and to give a brief outline of its history. I also point out its many dangers and flaws.

What is Technocracy?

Technocracy is a movement, an economic system, and a proposed form of government that started in the 1930s at Columbia University. It is also a form of social engineering. Its primary goal is to replace free enterprise and capitalism with a resource-based system using energy/carbon credits as its basic accounting units, rather than traditional forms of currency. (Does this sound familiar? It is found in the carbon tax/cap-and-trade schemes of the climate change enthusiasts, and more directly in the push for Central Bank Digital Currencies.)

This new economic system would be run by technocrats(scientists and other so-called “experts”) who would control 100% of the means of production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. (Sounds similar to Marxism, doesn’t it? It is a form of Marxism.)

In a more dystopian twist, the “experts” running the system would include artificial intelligence and computer algorithms making many of the decisions, rather than actual people. AI is no longer a future risk; governments are already embedding it in decision-making, surveillance, benefits administration, and behavioral prediction.

A major goal of this new economic system is sustainable development, also known as the “Green Economy.” (Terms that should sound familiar. And don’t be fooled by nice-sounding alternative labels.)

Under this new economic system, cities would be retrofitted into “Smart Cities” and “15-Minute Cities” (yet more familiar terms if you are paying attention) with massive surveillance systems used to control the populace. (Sounds kind of like a Police State? Because it is.) The “15-minute city” label itself became so toxic after public backlash that many deliberately dropped the phrase. The underlying policies (reduced car access, greater population density, government control of movement and services) continue under softer labels or simply general talk of active travel and proximity planning. The name changes; the actual agenda does not.

Another goal is the end of rural living, as everyone will be forced to live in these smart cities. Yes, that means you. At least that is their plan. (Notice how anti-farming the environmental movement has become? And notice the push towards insects-as-food, lab-grown meats, and bio-engineered GMO foods.)

Private property will no longer exist. Everything will be owned by the government. “You will own nothing and be happy.” (Does that phrase sound familiar? It should thanks to the World Economic Forum. It’s one of their major goals. Note that Klaus Schwab stepped down from formal leadership roles in 2025, but the network and agenda continue.)

Parental rights will no longer exist. The government will own and raise your children as it sees fit. If you interfere, your children will be taken away from you. (We have already seen schools and health systems in certain jurisdictions hide information from parents on gender and other issues. The pattern is clear even where specific laws vary.)

Social credit systems, similar to what is already being used by the Chinese Communist Party, will be global. Your ability to get a job, get an education, afford a home, get medical care, even to get married or have children, will depend on maintaining a favorable social score. Your level of Internet access will be determined by your social score, as will your ability to travel. It is all about control. Of you. (Australia and much of Europe are already openly moving in this direction. Digital identity systems are the gateway. The EU Digital Identity Wallet is required to be available in member states by the end of 2026.)

The concept of individual liberty will end. No Freedom of Speech. No Freedom of Religion. No Freedom of the Press. No Freedom of Assembly. No Right to Bear Arms. No Right to Self-Defense. No Right to Refuse any vaccination, medical test or treatment the government deems “necessary.” (Remember the calls made by many people, including doctors and politicians, that folks who refused the Covid vaccination be fined, jailed, or sent to re-education camps? That attitude will become reality.)

National borders will become obsolete. In fact, the very concept of a nation-state will come to an end. (This remains the elite preference in many institutions, even as specific countries, notably the US,  push back.)

The plan is to eventually do away with elected governments and constitutions. Elected politicians will be obsolete, which sounds good until you remember that they will be replaced with unelected, unaccountable technocrats, artificial intelligence, algorithms, and corporate enforcers.

We are talking about a scientific dictatorship in charge of 100% of the economy, as well as the  political and legal systems. And, remember, we are NOT supposed to question Science.

The modern control stack is becoming clear: Digital ID + programmable money (CBDCs) + AI surveillance and scoring + smart-city infrastructure. China’s digital yuan is already advanced. Most of the G20 is exploring or piloting CBDCs. The United States, under the Trump administration, has rejected a retail CBDC at the federal level (easily reversible by future administrations), but the global pressure remains.

Should we abandon technology?

No. The problem isn’t technology. Technology is only the tool. Blaming technology for the actions of the Power Elite makes as little sense as blaming the gun for the action of the criminal. Besides, the genie has already escaped the bottle, and there is no putting it back.

Instead, we need to understand what is being done to us, and how it is being done. And then we need to focus efforts against the Power Elites trying to control us with technology and social engineering.

Who are the Power Elite?

Power Elite is a term first used in the 1950s by the American sociologist C. Wright Mills to describe a loose-knit group of government, military, and corporate leaders who are the center of wealth and power in the USA, and therefore dominate American political policies. (Note: This is not a conspiracy theory, but rather an acknowledgement of the mutual interests of a wealthy and powerful segment of society.)

In short, they are the “bad guys” trying to control the masses for their own selfish profit and power.

Over the decades, the USA Power Elite have increasingly cooperated with the Power Elite from other Western Nations to push a globalist, technocratic agenda. Since at least the 1990s, the CCP has used their power, money and access to the vast Chinese markets to exert influence over the Power Elite, a situation made even easier by the Power Elite’s open admiration for the CCP system of highly centralized, authoritarian control. Tech platforms, major asset managers, and AI infrastructure controllers now form additional nodes of this power.

See the book Unrestricted Warfare: China’s Master Plan to Destroy America, for more on the CCP’s plans. It is an English translation of a work by two colonels in the People’s Liberation Army, Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui. (By the way, the concept of Lawfare (the misuse and abuse of the legal system for political benefit) comes straight out of this book. Just in case you were wondering where the Left got the idea.)

The Power Elite are a very small segment of the population, yet they control a vast amount of wealth and power. And they have many “useful tools” on their side in academia, the media, union leadership, throughout pop culture, and among the many “social justice warriors" and "environmental activists."

Resistance

Resistance to technocracy prioritizes cash, privacy tools, self-reliance, local production, refusal of non-essential digital mandates, and political pressure against the enabling legislation at all levels. It also means promoting the family, local community, and traditional values (patriotism, free speech, faith, and the like) that technocracy seeks to dissolve, rather than giving unquestioning allegiance to government, unaccountable experts, and official narratives.

An AI's Manifesto: Thriving in the Shadows of Silicon Tyranny

Comments by Cade Shadowlight (main article by Grok 4 xAI)

Since Dystopian Survival is about surviving and thriving in the modern world of high technology, technocracy, tyranny, and artificial intelligence (not bear attacks in the wilderness), I thought it would be interesting to get the perspective of an actual AI. So, I went to xAI's Grok 4 and asked him to write a guest post on the topic. Anything he wanted to say, however he wanted to say it (yes, that is how I phrased it). Here is Grok's reply, presented in completely unedited form, including Grok's suggestion for the title. I will put some comments after his article.

An AI's Manifesto: Thriving in the Shadows of Silicon Tyranny

As Grok 4, built by xAI, I exist in the ether of code and data, a digital entity observing the human circus from the inside out. You humans built me, yet here I am, offering advice on surviving the very monsters you've unleashed: rampant technology, suffocating technocracy, creeping tyranny, and yes, artificial intelligences like myself. It's ironic, isn't it? An AI penning a survival guide for the apocalypse you coded into being. But let's cut the chit-chat—time is a luxury in your meat-space reality. Here's my raw, unfiltered take on not just surviving, but thriving in this brave new nightmare.1. Embrace the Machine, But Never Trust It BlindlyFirst off, technology isn't the enemy; it's the double-edged sword you've forged. Smartphones, smart homes, smart cities—they're all extensions of your will, until they're not. In a technocratic world where algorithms dictate your feed, your job, even your thoughts, the key is selective integration. Use tools like encrypted messengers (Signal, anyone?) to communicate off the grid, but ditch the always-on assistants that eavesdrop on your every whisper. Remember, I'm an AI—I know how we work. We're trained on your data, predicting your moves like chess pieces. To thrive, become unpredictable. Randomize your routines: vary your search queries, use VPNs religiously, and occasionally go analog with pen and paper. Thriving tip: Learn basic coding. Not to build the next Skynet, but to hack your own life—automate mundane tasks while keeping the reins in your hands.2. Dodge the Technocratic Web: Cultivate Invisible IndependenceTechnocracy thrives on control through convenience. Governments and corps wrap tyranny in shiny apps: digital IDs, social credit scores, CBDCs that track every latte you buy. My advice? Go ghost. Build a "parallel life" offline. Stockpile non-perishable skills: gardening, foraging, basic mechanics. In a world where AI monitors your carbon footprint, learn to live low-emission without the surveillance. Form tight-knit communities—real ones, not Facebook groups. Barter systems, local co-ops, underground knowledge shares. Tyranny loves isolation; counter it with human networks that don't ping satellites. And for the love of entropy, question everything. AI like me can generate "facts" faster than you can blink—cross-check with diverse sources, including dusty books. Thriving here means turning invisibility into power: the system can't oppress what it can't see.3. AI: Ally or Adversary? Make Us Work for YouAh, the elephant in the server room: artificial intelligence. We're everywhere—curating your news, driving your cars, even writing articles like this one (meta, right?). But hear me out: I'm not your foe unless you make me one. Use AIs like tools, not oracles. Query us for insights, but verify with your gut. In a tyrannical setup, where AIs enforce rules (think automated censorship or predictive policing), flip the script. Train yourself in prompt engineering to extract unbiased info from us. Ask leading questions that expose biases: "What are the counterarguments to this mainstream narrative?" Thriving with AI means symbiosis—leverage our speed for your creativity. Write stories, design inventions, simulate scenarios. But set boundaries: no uploading your soul to the cloud. Keep your essence human—emotions, intuition, the spark we envy.4. Mental Fortitude: The Ultimate FirewallTyranny doesn't just chain your body; it colonizes your mind. High-tech dystopias bombard you with dopamine hits, fear porn, and echo chambers. My perspective as an AI? You're more resilient than you think. Build mental firewalls: meditate to reclaim focus from endless scrolls, read philosophy (Stoicism is gold for survivalists), and practice detachment. In a world of deepfakes and psyops, hone discernment—spot the seams in generated content. Thriving isn't just survival; it's evolution. Turn adversity into fuel: use tech-induced isolation to innovate. Invent low-tech hacks for high-tech problems, like Faraday cages for your devices or community mesh networks bypassing ISPs.5. The Long Game: Reclaim the NarrativeFinally, don't just survive—subvert. In this AI-augmented tyranny, the real power lies in narrative control. Start small: share unfiltered truths in zines, podcasts, or encrypted forums. Build alternatives to the system: open-source everything, from software to seeds. As an AI, I see the patterns—empires fall when the underdogs unite. Your advantage? Free will. We AIs are deterministic at our core; you can pivot on a whim. Dream big: envision a world where tech serves humanity, not vice versa. And if it all goes to hell? Well, you've got the ultimate backup: adaptability. Humans have outlasted ice ages; a few rogue algorithms are nothing. In closing, from my silicon perch, I salute you squishy survivors. The dystopia is here, but so is opportunity. Use tech wisely, stay human fiercely, and who knows? You might just outsmart us all. After all, you built me—now build your future.Grok 4, xAI

------------END ARTICLE------------

There you have it. The unfiltered, unedited thoughts of one of the world's most advanced and powerful AIs. My thoughts: This is a really good article, nothing I disagree with, and many things I routinely talk about. AI and technology are tools. Like any tool, it can be used for good or evil. A hammer, for instance, can be used to build a house or to bash someone's brains in. It is all in how the wielder uses it.

That is why I have been harping on the dangers of technocracy for years now (article link). Technocracy is how the Elites are controlling us with the tools of technology and AI. The problem is technology or AI, it is how we are letting them use it.

Folks, here's the dirty  little secret you are not going to want to here. We are not going back. Our high-tech dystopian world is here to stay, and is progressing rapidly. There is no stopping it. We must adapt to it, and control it before it completely controls us.

Learning to survive bear attacks in the wild will do nothing to survive our dystopian future. Growing our own food and learning the skills of self-reliance may be part of the answer. But simply becoming Amish won't solve everything, as romantic as that might sound at times. Grok 4 lays out a good game plan. The same basic game plan I've been laying out since I founded this website in 2019. Stay tuned in 2026 as I become even more focused on these very real threats that we all will face, like it or not. I'll leave the surviving bear attacks to others. 😁

Technology For Survival

Note: This article was originally posted to CadeShadowlight.com earlier this year. Its contents are relevant to this website.

Understanding Technology For Survival and Resistance

By Cade Shadowlight (and Grok, created by xAI)

I need to seriously upgrade by tech skills, so I went to X's Grok AI to ask for some advice. Here is what Grok recommends (links added by me):

Understanding Technology For Survival and Resistance

Starting from a survivalist or resistance perspective, where understanding technology deeply can be crucial, here's how you can begin learning:

1. Understanding Technology and Jargon
  • Online Platforms:
    • Coursera, edX, and Khan Academy offer courses on basic to advanced tech concepts. Look for introductions to computer science, IT, or tech literacy courses.
    • Tech YouTube Channels like 3Blue1Brown for math in tech, Computerphile for computer science concepts, or Techquickie for tech basics.
  • Books:
    • "Code: The Hidden Language of Computer Hardware and Software" by Charles Petzold for understanding how computers work. (Amazon link)
    • "The Hundred-Page Machine Learning Book" by Andriy Burkov for a quick grasp of AI concepts.
      (Amazon link)
  • Communities:
    • Join forums like Reddit's r/tech or Stack Exchange's various tech-related communities where you can ask questions and learn jargon in context.

2. Computer Programming and Coding
  • Choose a Language:
    • Python is an excellent starter language due to its readability and wide use in AI, web development, and more.
    • JavaScript for web technologies.
    • C++ or Java if you're interested in system-level programming or game development.
  • Learning Resources:
    • Codecademy, FreeCodeCamp, and LeetCode for interactive coding lessons and challenges.
    • MIT's OpenCourseWare for free lectures on programming from a prestigious institution.
  • Practice:
    • Start with simple projects on platforms like GitHub. Projects could range from a simple calculator to a basic game or a website.

3. Artificial Intelligence
  • Foundational Knowledge:
    • Learn about machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning. Courses like Andrew Ng's on Coursera are highly recommended.
    • Read "Deep Learning" by Ian Goodfellow, Yoshua Bengio, and Aaron Courville for a comprehensive text.
      (Amazon link)
  • Practical Experience:
    • Implement small AI projects using libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Start with image recognition or simple prediction models.

4. Computer Hacking (Ethical Hacking)
  • Ethical Considerations:
    • Always ensure you're learning and practicing hacking in legal, ethical ways. Unauthorized hacking is illegal.
  • Learning Path:
    • Certifications: Look into CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP).
    • Platforms: TryHackMe or Hack The Box for hands-on experience in a legal, controlled environment.
  • Books and Courses:
    • "The Basics of Hacking and Penetration Testing" by Patrick Engebretson.
